FAQs - Gaijin Houses FAQ

How many people can stay in a room?

Most guest houses will allow a maximum of 2 people.

Please note though that in Japan most rooms including hotels charge not by the room but by the number of persons. It will still be cheaper to share but count on being charge a little more.

Hi, Thanks for your comment.
Although guest most guest houses do not
normally rent out to families there are options for apartments, or
sub/lets.

I suggest post an ad in the classifieds section: http://gaijinhousejapan.com/gaijin-house-classi...

On the left side of the page there is a menu bar just select "New
Ad."

Good Luck
P.S. I will keep my out for anything!

Hello !
We're looking for a guest/gaijin house, apartment for two adults, in the
same room. You wrote that two people are allowed, but in every website I
checked, I saw only one bed... Some websites offers a room for two people, but
where does the second person sleep...? Is this possible or do we need to book a
room for each one of us ?

Most guest houses allow 2 adult per room but that does not mean you will get two
beds. Some guest houses offer bunk beds, others offer single beds which are very
small indeed, others have no beds, in this case you would sleep on a futon.
Unfortunately if you are looking for a room with two beds you will be hard
pressed to find one. Bunk beds are common but I think you would be most
comfortable with the third option finding a room where you sleep on Japanese
futons. They are very comfortable, and there are no issues with small or hard
single beds.

Do gaijin houses allow for unmarried couples? For example, will you find guest
houses with double beds?
Admin  - Yes   |2008-12-12 15:03:43
I have never seen a guest house with double beds. Most rooms have singles, bunk
beds, or futons. Although most guest houses advertise saying 2 or 3 people can
stay in a room. It's tight at best with more than 2 people.
