I have never seen a guest house with double beds. Most rooms have singles, bunk beds, or futons. Although most guest houses advertise saying 2 or 3 people can stay in a room. It's tight at best with more than 2 people.

Most guest houses allow 2 adult per room but that does not mean you will get two beds. Some guest houses offer bunk beds, others offer single beds which are very small indeed, others have no beds, in this case you would sleep on a futon. Unfortunately if you are looking for a room with two beds you will be hard pressed to find one. Bunk beds are common but I think you would be most comfortable with the third option finding a room where you sleep on Japanese futons. They are very comfortable, and there are no issues with small or hard single beds.
